The power of “Words”

In my life words have always been important to me their power to elevate, energise, and heal, as well as their potential to wound, instil anxiety, and cause unthinkable harm. This post is born out of the conviction that we often underestimate the significant impact of words, spoken, written, and thought in our heads.

Words, once lodged in our minds, can be hard to forget. But within this realisation lies an incredible opportunity: the ability to uplift, to breathe life into others' aspirations, and to spark a positive glow in their hearts. This post is a celebration of positive power of words for the greater good, for the betterment advancement of ourselves and those around us.

For over 37 years, within business I thrived on this principle, on the genuine commitment to support and aid people by offering them kind words at the right moment. This involves investing time to truly understand their feelings, to empathise with the internal dialogue that may be hindering their progress, and to assist them in embracing their authentic selves.

While mentoring and motivational dialogue are sometimes dismissed as fluff or pointless conversation, I stand by the belief that 'just words' can be very influential. Devoting time to others, guiding them through their journeys, and helping them steer clear of life's puddles and pitfalls, these acts are powered by words using my history, knowledge, and experience.

Words wield power regardless of their form—written, spoken, or contemplated silently. On this day, I urge you to embrace the opportunity to use words positively. Your choice of language could make a world of difference to someone in need of encouragement or a moment of clarity. Whether they read your words, hear them, or simply reflect on them, your positive expressions can be a beacon of light in someone's life.

Let us not forget words are powerful. Use them wisely, use them kindly, and watch the incredible impact they can have.

“As my grandma would say, if you have nothing positive to say or write, then do nothing”.

Have you ever truly pondered the immense power held within the words you speak, write, and think?

Do you appreciate the huge impact of the words that spread through your life?
